I'm writing this today from the wee hours of the morning, but thats ok, I couldn't miss this, Kate and Wills are getting married! Almost everyone will have a personal story tied into theirs and here is mine.
I can remember plain as day watching William's mom and dad's amazing day. I watched, what was probably a time delay, with my Aunt Sandy at my Grandma's house on the farm. At 6, I was entranced. You know how your world is so small at that age, I thought I was apart of it all. That's why I am sitting here watching with my 5 year old little girl. I want her to remember this and have those same feelings, during the season of her life when princess' are an everyday thing, ballgowns and tiaras are a part of her everyday attire, and she even believes she is one (which she is to us). You have to have a little bit of magic to hold on to from that season of your life as a little girl, and for me my whole life I was reminded of it every time I would see photos from that first wedding, and I hope the same photos bring the magic of this time to Jaycie Claire's life everytime she sees pictures from Kate and Williams fairy tale day.
Another little thing I am doing for her, is the same thing my mom did at the time for me, I am getting her the royal ring replica to have. I still have mine, and again its just that little token of childhood magic to me every time I see it.
So, whats your royal wedding story. How do you feel the magic and connection of this event?
(ps love this photo and that the pulled off the second kiss! So cool, for a hip new royal couple)

My story is very similar to yours. I was about 6, and I remember watching Charles and Diana's wedding on TV with my mom and younger sister. I remember being fascinated by the fact that this pretty girl was becoming a princess. I still feel that magic and wonder when I think back to that. It's not tempered by the heartache that befell her later in life. No one's life is a fairytale forever. But for that one day, it was...as should all women's wedding days. I felt like a princess the day of my wedding.
Too bad that my little girl, at 9 months old, is pretty much oblivious to this sort of thing.
