Papergirls and Elmer's Blog Link Party!

PAR-TAY!!!

The papergirls have hooked up with Elmer's for a fabulous fun blog link party today.  Which means we have inspiration for you on each of our blogs using some awesome Elmers and Exacto products, they sent us to play with.

I for one was so excited to get my hands on the adhesives, especially their tape runner.  And I was pleased.  My project used the 7gypsies library drawer turned into a photo and ephemera home decor piece for my son's sports career (he's 7 so we are all about little league right now).  I used the Teresa Collins Sports edition 2 line for my papers and just love the fact that they cover all sports, so no matter what, Tucker decides to focus on, its in there.

So, back to the adhesives, and especially that tape runner.

I really am sold on their tape runner. It held well, but, most of all it glides on like butter and it is the little dots so, very easy to rub off if you go over your mark.  The glue stick is what I have used and loved for years, there is just something special about a good glue stick.  Also, you see the exacto retractable knife.  This was also great especially, the fact that it retracts, those exacto knives can be dangerous.

Here is how I covered the individual tab files that came with the drawer.

I used the exacto knife to cut around the folder to get an exact paper fit and then:

I covered the paper surface completely with the glue stick, lined them up, and the 2 became 1.

Next, I added the fun embelishments that come with the TC sports edition2 line, and decorated each file adhering them with the wonderful tape runner.

  I really like how it turned out and can't wait to fill it will all of my sons sporting adventures.

One other item that I have used over and over and I have to mention is Elmer's gel pens.

I do a lot of mixed media art and I cannot believe how well these perform on those extreme crafting situations.  I highly recommend these and want to start a petition that Elmer's comes out with a pastels line of them too.
